The Clydesdale is a breed of draft horse derived from the farm horses of Clydesdale, Scotland, and named after that region. Thought to be over 300 years old, the breed was extensively used for pulling heavy loads and known for their white socks or stockings also known as “feathering” which is the long hair that goes over the hooves.
Clydesdales come in a range of colors with tall socks or stockings and they are a tall, heavily muscled, and powerfully built horse. The Clydesdale is also known for having a gentle temperament and being a handsome animal.
